The permanent installation, conceived by artist Gianfranco Anastasio, offers a unique experience occupying the noble floor of the palace and taking shape as a true itinerary into the philosophy of knowledge. Through a refined interplay of immersive rooms, historical galleries, and contemporary works, the exhibition explores the complex cultural paradigm shift between modernity and post-modernity.

The visitor is invited on a journey that transcends traditional divisions between scientific, artistic, and philosophical knowledge, offering a unified yet profound vision of reality.

The path unfolds through powerful visual and conceptual suggestions, including a threshold that narrates the end of the utopia of absolute objectivity through an aesthetic shock. Among the most iconic elements are ten carbonized wooden poles marked with golden rings and an entire golden wall bearing the formula of Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle.

This juxtaposition between quantum physics and the sacredness of golden light—typical of iconographic tradition—suggests that only a negative ontology of nature is possible, opening a space in which art becomes a revelation of pure beauty and the ineffable.

“What Remains” is not merely an exhibition, but an existential space-time reflecting the turmoil of the twentieth century: from the fragmentation of scientific thought to global crises, and ultimately to the awareness of human limits.

Every detail, from the engraved brass floor tiles to works such as the Wing of Icarus, creates a sensitive and unpredictable relationship with the visitor, prompting reflection on time, place, and the transformation of paradigms.

At the end of the journey, those who pass through the rooms are enveloped in a radiant light that, beyond human fragility, restores dignity and splendour to every form of life on Earth.
